Carlogie Dam Fishings 04.05.08

The competition for the Bob Wallace Trophy was held recently at Carlogie Dam, the day was wet and overcast with the fish moving all day. 9 Anglers caught 127 fish between them. The Winner was Barry Robertson (Montrose) who set a new competition record with a catch of 29 fish for 84lb. In Runner-up spot was Dave Thoms (Carnoustie) with 20 fish for 59lb. Third place went to Sandy McAllan (Arbroath) with 20 fish also for 56lb.

Carlogie Dam Fishings 27.04.08

Carlogie Dam is fishing very well with some excellent catches coming off. Buzzers and Nymphs are now taking the majority of the fish being caught. 6yr old Callum Black (Carnoustie) hooked and landed a nice 1lb 8oz Rainbow on his own rod.

Carlogie Dam Fishings 20.04.08

Carlogie Dam held its round of the Trout Master Fish Off last Sunday, 10 Anglers took part catching 49 fish between them. It was a close run competition with only 8oz between the eventual winner and the next heaviest bag. Barry Robertson (Montrose) won the competition with 5 fish for 16lb, 4oz, he now goes on to fish in the Grand Final at Grafham Water next month.

The fish in Carlogie Dam are moving all over the dam and are being caught on a wide variety of flies. Yellow dancers and cormorants are doing well for the lure fishers while black buzzers are catching well for the anglers fishing nymphs.

Rosyth Civil Service A.C visited Carlogie Dam recently and had an excellent day. After a snowy start the weather cleared and it wasnt long before the first fish was on the bank. Between them the 19 anglers had 67 fish for 161lb 2oz, best bag og the day was S.Gordon 4 for11lb 8oz.

With the cold weather continuing the fish in Carlogie Dam have moved slightly deeper in the water, most anglers are still on Intermediate or Sinking Lines. One angler lost out on £100 last week, he caught a 3lb 8oz Goldie but hadn't paid his £1 in the pot so couldn't claim the money.

Carlogie Dam Fishings 24.03.08

Carlogie Dam held its first competition of the year recently 'The George Nicoll Trophy'. It was a bright but cold day and it wasnt long before the first fish was in the net.

The Winner was Mike Broomfield (Ferryden) with 10 fish for 28lb, in Runner Up spot was Dave Simpson (Forfar) with 9 for 25lb. There was a tie for third place between Derick Brise (Forfar) and Tam Hickie (Dundee) with both anglers catches weighing in at 14lb 12oz.

Heaviest fish of the day also went to Tam Hickie a rainbow if 4lb 12oz.

The Ferry Fly Dressers AC had their first outing of the season at Carlogie Dam recently and they did extremely well, the 14 anglers caught and killed 64 fish for 116lb 8oz.

Top bag went to Wullie Thomson (Dundee) with 5 for 15lb then c/r 3, next was Ian Duffus (Dundee) 5 for 13lb 14oz.
