At Carlogie Dam Fishings over the festive season two competitions were held. The first was the Dave Thoms Boxing Day Trophy the anglers braved the cold conditions,the winner was Fraser Robertson from Forfar who caught 23 fish weighing 65lb 12oz,runner up Dave Simpson also from Forfar with 10 weighing 26lb 12oz,3rd place was Raymond Ferguson from Arbroath with 6 weighing 14lb 7oz.

Other results were Derek Birse from Forfar with 5 weighing 11lb 8oz,Colin Duncan from Forfar with 5 weighing 11lb 8oz, Ally Stewart from Dundee caught and kept 2 weighing 4lb 8o.

The New Years Trophy was won by Dave Simpson from Forfar who caught 15 weighing 41lb 8oz,runner up Fraser Robertson from Forfar with 14 weighing 39lb 14oz, 3rd place was Bruce Thomson from Arbroath with 12 weighing 32lb, 4th place Ally Stewart with 7 weighing 17lb 9oz.

The Ferry Fly Dressers visited the dam and brought 10 anglers with them to fish their annual pairs competition. The winning pair were Andy Brown and D Cadger with 27 between them weighing  83lb 15oz, runner up Dave West and Les Young with 22 weighing 78lb 9oz, 3rd place A Lawrie and G Sutherland with 16 weighing 43lb 8oz, 4th place J McLaren and D Bothwick with 13 weighing 38lb 12oz.

This year's senior championship was held on Sunday 4th September and was a hard fought contest. The winner was Dave Simpson from Forfar with 6 fish weighing 17lbs8ozs. In second place was Colin Tait from Forfar with 5 fish weighing 16lbs10ozs. In third place was a tie betwen Bruce Thompson from Arbroath with 4 fish weighing 12lbs and George Nicoll from Carnoustie with 5 fish also weighing 12lbs. In fifth was Dave Roy from Barnhill with 4 fish weighing 11lb8ozs.

Dear All,

The Charity Day held at Carlogie Farm on Sunday 5th June 2011 was a huge success raising over £12,000 to be shared between two well deserving charities for Diabetes and Cancer Research.

I would like to thank you very much for your contribution to this event without your help and the many other generous people who supported it we would not have raised such a large sum of money.

Great fun was had by all who attended and the showjumping and fishing competitions were great fun with Stephanie Sturrock winning the overall showjumping points trophy and Steve Duncan winning  the overall fishing points trophy.

All in all this had to be one of my best birthdays ever and being 70 now I have celebrated many, what better a way to have a birthday than to be with family and many friends whilst at the same time raising money to help those who are not so fortunate.
